Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 October 2026 · Version 8
NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.
1. Who we are and what these terms are
Reminth is run by Lefteris Psilopanagiotis, an individual developer based in Greece (“we”, “us”). Contact: reminthsupport@gmail.com.
These terms are an agreement between you and us for the Reminth launcher, this website and any Reminth service. By installing or using Reminth you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't use Reminth. How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
2. What Reminth is
Reminth is a launcher for Minecraft: Java Edition on Windows. It downloads the official game files from Mojang, sets up the mod loader you choose (Fabric, Quilt, Forge, NeoForge or none), keeps separate instances, and starts the game with your own Microsoft account. It can also browse and install mods, modpacks, resource packs, data packs and shaders published on Modrinth, and check whether the mods in an instance will load on its Minecraft version.
You need your own legitimate Minecraft: Java Edition licence. Reminth does not include the game, does not distribute a copy of it, and provides no way to play without owning it.
3. Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft
Reminth is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Mojang Studios, Microsoft, Modrinth, GitHub, or the Fabric, Quilt, Forge or NeoForge projects. “Minecraft” is a trademark of Mojang and Microsoft, used here only to describe what this software launches. Mod, modpack and server names, descriptions, icons, and creator names and pictures shown in Reminth belong to their owners and are shown as published on Modrinth.
Your use of Minecraft remains governed by the Minecraft End User License Agreement, the Minecraft Usage Guidelines and the Microsoft Services Agreement. Nothing in these terms replaces them, and you agree to follow them while using Reminth.
4. Who can use Reminth
You must be allowed to hold a Microsoft account where you live. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use Reminth, and a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and make any purchase for you. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children's use of Reminth.
5. Your licence to use Reminth
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Reminth on your own computers for your own non-commercial use. You may not:
- sell, rent or sublicense Reminth, or charge anyone for it;
- distribute modified copies of Reminth, or distribute any copy under the Reminth name or logo;
- remove or change Reminth's notices, including the Mojang/Microsoft disclaimer;
- get around any licence check, paid-feature check or security measure in Reminth;
- use Reminth to break the law or anyone else's rights.
None of this limits anything the law allows you to do regardless, such as making a backup copy or decompiling for interoperability where the law permits it. The Reminth name, logo, design and code belong to us. All rights we don't expressly give you are kept by us.
6. Fair play
Reminth contains no cheats, hacks, exploits or tools to evade bans or anti-cheat systems. You must not use it to cheat, to break the Minecraft EULA or Usage Guidelines, or to break the rules of any server. You are responsible for your Microsoft and Minecraft accounts: keep them secure, never share them, and never enter your Microsoft password anywhere other than Microsoft's own sign-in page.
The Reminth account. The launcher asks you to make one (with Discord, Google or an email address and password) before you connect Minecraft; the same account works on this website. Pick a gamer tag that isn't offensive and doesn't pretend to be someone else, and keep your password to yourself. You can delete the account yourself at any time on the account page. We may suspend or delete an account that is used to abuse Reminth or other people, or to break these terms. What the account stores is described in the Privacy Policy, section 3c.
7. Bans, suspensions and server rules
Reminth is only a launcher. It starts the official game with the files and mods you choose. It does not decide what is allowed on any server, and it has no control over, or influence on, the decisions of Mojang, Microsoft, Xbox, Minecraft, Modrinth, mod authors, or the owners, staff or anti-cheat systems of any server or network.
We are not responsible or liable for any ban, suspension, mute, kick, account restriction, loss of progress, loss of in-game items or purchases, or any other penalty that Mojang, Microsoft, Xbox, Minecraft, any server or network, or any other third party applies to you. This includes penalties related to a mod, resource pack, shader or setting you used through Reminth, or a mod Reminth installed for you. Those decisions are made by those third parties, not by us, and any dispute about them is between you and them. We will not appeal, reverse or compensate for any ban, and no ban entitles you to a refund of any Reminth purchase.
Many servers ban specific mods, for example minimaps, x-ray packs or clients that change combat. It is your responsibility to check and follow the rules of every server you join, and to remove or turn off anything a server doesn't allow. If you're unsure, ask the server's staff before you play.
8. Mods Reminth installs, and third-party content
Reminth installs and updates a small set of mods: a performance pack of well-known open-source mods
(currently Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, ImmediatelyFast, Entity Culling and ScalableLux on Fabric and
Quilt; the NeoForge and Forge equivalents on those loaders), taken from Modrinth as stable releases only
and only where a build exists for your Minecraft version, Reminth's own HUD mod (ReminthHUD) where it is
switched on, and Fabric API (downloaded from Fabric's own server) on Fabric and Quilt, which those mods
need. The pack is on by default for new Fabric and Quilt instances; on Forge and NeoForge it is only
installed where you switched it on, and it is never added to an imported modpack. You can switch the
performance pack and ReminthHUD off in the instance's settings. If you have your own copy of one of
these mods, or a mod that cannot run next to one, yours is used instead of Reminth's. If you switch off
or delete a pack mod yourself, Reminth does not put it back until you press Restore. Reminth only ever
removes copies it installed itself; mods you added are never deleted unless you remove them. Section 7
applies to these mods too. Reminth may also run Minecraft one step above other programs in Windows'
priority, may write a starting options.txt into a brand-new instance if you pick a
performance profile, and chooses the Java settings Minecraft starts with; none of this is a promise of
any particular speed, and you can change or switch off each of these in the launcher's settings.
Mods, modpacks, resource packs, data packs and shaders you find through Reminth are made by other people and hosted by Modrinth. A modpack may also download files from other hosts its author listed; Reminth only accepts Modrinth's own download server, GitHub and GitLab for these. Reminth checks each of these files against the checksum Modrinth or the pack publishes, but we don't write, review, test or vouch for them. Each is subject to its own licence and its author's terms.
Compatibility checks. Reminth can check whether the mods in an instance will load on its Minecraft version and loader, and tell you which ones won't and why. It replaces a mod with another build, adds a mod that is missing, or switches a mod off only when you press the button for it (for example “Fix and play”); you can also choose to play without fixing. The check is a best-effort aid, not a guarantee that the game will start or that mods work together. If Reminth makes a copy of an instance for a different Minecraft version, the copy never includes your worlds: they stay in the original instance, which is not changed.
9. Paid features
Reminth+ and Reminth Hosting are not available yet. Anything shown about them in the launcher or on this site is a preview of what is being built and may change. Previews may show example player names, faces and servers, which are made up and do not refer to real people. Nothing can be bought today, and everything the launcher does today is free. How much memory (RAM) you give Minecraft is not a paid feature.
When a paid feature launches, these rules will apply to it:
- Before you pay, you will see the price including taxes, what you get, how long it lasts, whether it renews automatically and how often, and how to cancel. The checkout makes clear that you are agreeing to pay.
- Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider, which will be named at checkout. Its terms also apply to the payment itself.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel online at any time, as easily as you signed up. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep what you paid for until the end of the current period.
- Price changes for existing subscriptions are announced at least 30 days before they take effect, and you can cancel before they apply.
- Purchase history. You will have access to a record of every payment you made.
- No gameplay advantages. In line with the Minecraft Usage Guidelines, nothing sold through Reminth gives a competitive advantage over other players.
- Reminth Hosting will also come with its own service rules (for example acceptable use of servers), shown to you before you buy.
10. Refunds and your right of withdrawal
Our policy is no refunds. Paid features start immediately after you pay, so we don't refund purchases, unused time, partial billing periods, renewals you forgot to cancel, or purchases you no longer want. A ban or penalty from a third party (section 7) is not a reason for a refund.
Your legal rights always apply on top of this policy, and nothing in these terms takes them away. In particular:
If you live in the EU, EEA or UK: the 14-day right of withdrawal
As a consumer you normally have the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. Because our paid features start straight away, at checkout we will ask you to tick a box to confirm that:
- you want the service or content to start immediately, before the 14-day period ends; and
- you understand how this affects your right of withdrawal, as explained below.
We will then confirm your purchase and this acknowledgement to you by email. The effect is:
- Digital content supplied once (not as an ongoing service): once supply has started, you lose the right of withdrawal.
- Ongoing digital services, such as a Reminth+ subscription or Reminth Hosting: you can still withdraw within 14 days of your first purchase. If you do, we refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the time you had the service before telling us you were withdrawing. Once the service has been fully provided, the right ends.
To withdraw, send us a clear statement before the 14 days end, by email to reminthsupport@gmail.com or using the withdrawal option in your account when it exists. You can use the model form below, but you don't have to. We refund within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, to the payment method you used, without any fee.
To: Lefteris Psilopanagiotis (Reminth), reminthsupport@gmail.com
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service: ____
Ordered on: ____ · Name: ____ · Email used for the purchase: ____
Date: ____
Faulty or not as described
If a paid feature doesn't work as described, you have legal rights to have it fixed, to a price reduction, or to end the contract and get money back, depending on the law where you live. Contact us first so we can put it right.
Chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us before disputing it with your bank. If a payment is reversed, we may pause the paid feature it paid for until the dispute is resolved.
11. Updates, changes and ending
The launcher checks the project's GitHub releases for new versions and installs them when it closes. Download Reminth only from this site or the project's GitHub page; we can't vouch for copies from anywhere else. Current preview builds are not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you about the publisher.
Reminth is in active development, so features may change, be improved or be removed. You can stop using Reminth at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access to a paid feature if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms; except in urgent cases we will warn you first. If we end a paid feature for any reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused part of what you paid.
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects paid features or your rights, we will tell you in the launcher or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then. For free use, continuing to use Reminth after a change means you accept it.
12. No warranty, and limits on liability
The free launcher is provided “as is” and “as available”. It downloads files, runs the game and writes to your computer. Apart from what the law requires, we give no promises that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose. Keep backups of worlds you care about.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost or corrupted worlds or data, account problems, bans or penalties from third parties, problems caused by third-party mods or services, performance problems, or indirect or unforeseeable losses. For paid features, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Greek law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of your own country or of Greece.
If you have a problem, contact us first; most things can be sorted out quickly. Consumers can also go to an out-of-court dispute body, such as the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (synigoroskatanaloti.gr) in Greece or the equivalent body in your country.
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
14. Contact
Lefteris Psilopanagiotis (Reminth), Greece. Email: reminthsupport@gmail.com. For legal or trademark concerns, takedown requests, abuse reports, security issues or withdrawals, email is the fastest route. Please report security problems privately rather than posting details publicly.
